Mine again | Heath Family Photographer

I decided to start sharing a bit more of my family here on the blog – because I’ve really enjoyed reading blogs where you get to learn something personal about the blogger, and I want you to know a bit more about me!  Getting to know my clients on a personal level is something I love doing, and it always helps me to get those more ‘real’ moments during our portrait session.

These images are from September.  The first set are from Kate’s 3rd birthday session – she looked so much more grown up to me than in past portraits – three is such a milestone!  The second set are some random snaps of my family, to share with you.  My Mom, husband and Dad are in these, and of course – my kids…  Maybe in my next post I’ll actually share some more of ME…  Ha!

The F Family | Downtown Royse City Family Portraits

Yep – still blogging November 2011 – I had a LOT of sessions that month, and I think I’m sorta getting close to blogging them all!  This family is dear to my heart – I photographed little Kaleb when he was less than two weeks old, and then I photographed this family in the fall of 2010.  I was so pleased that they decided to come back and have me photograph them this fall – kids change so quickly at this age, and each family session, even just a year apart – had a totally different vibe – and told the story of their family in that moment.  I love my job.

Corbin & Chandler | Cousins | Rockwall-Heath Senior Photographer

It’s always more fun when you have some extra peeps along during a senior shoot – lots of laughs, and plenty of people to hold the lighting equipment!  I got the unique opportunity to photograph cousins, who will both be graduation this year from Rockwall-Heath High School.  These two share a special bond, and I was honored to be able to capture them both individually, as well as grab a few of them together.  I hope they’ll cherish these as they get older!

Mine | Rockwall Photo Studio

While going through sessions from last year, in an attempt to get caught up here on the blog – I ran across some images I took of MY kids back in AUGUST (2011).  I can’t believe I never shared them here!  I’m not going to lie to you – it’s not easy being the kids of a photographer – a camera is in your face even more than the average parent.  This is why I cherish even more, the times when my kids will let me catch a few moments on ‘digital film’ – because five minutes is usually about all I get!  In any case – these were probably all taken on different dates – but here are mine from last August!

All dressed up to test out my recital background for Spring 2012 dance portraits:

My oldest daughter, Emma, is in kindergarten.  I can barely believe how grown up she’s getting!  I had her try on her uniform over the summer to be sure it still fit from pre-K – and she was kind enough to oblige me with a few portraits!

Ready for School PortraitsAnd lastly – these are my babies on their first day of school.  Kate started pre-K3 – her first year at The Fulton School – I was one proud Mommy!  (Still am…)

The T Family | Royse City Photographer

Still behind on blogging – but I’m making my way through!  This adorable family participated in my fall mini-sessions in Downtown Royse City back in November.  This sisters shot is one of my favorites from the fall – I love the colors, the adorable girls – just everything about it!

Emily Jane | Baby’s First Year | Waxahachie Photographer

Emily wrapped up her baby plan at the end of last year with a first birthday session in downtown Waxahachie!  It was appropriate – because her daddy is a fireman there – and aside from that – the downtown area is SO adorable!  I’m so lucky to have a job that allows me to travel around to all different locations and find those little spots that are just perfect for portraits!  We even found a doorway to do our cake smash in at the end of the session – and just after we finished – it started to rain – talk about perfect timing!

Sweet, sweet Sofia – she is amazing in so many ways!  Those lips…  that hair…  And she was a sweet and sleepy subject, to boot!  This session took place in early November – I can only imagine how much she’s grown – I hope to see her soon!

Mine | Jumping on the Bed Photography

In the hustle and bustle of the busy fall portrait season – it’s so easy to forget to take the time to shoot for myself – just for the pure joy of it.  Don’t get me wrong – I love photographing my clients – but every once in a while – I want to do something different – something that will reflect MY life, and photograph my kids in a way that will remind me years down the road, just how fun and ‘bouncy’ they were when they were three and five years old.  I’m very behind on blogging – these were taking at the beginning of November last year – just as my crazy busy season was beginning.  I am so glad I took a moment to capture MY kids – something I don’t always get a chance to do during that time of year.  And remember – you don’t have to be a professional photographer, or even have a fancy camera – to capture your kids right as they are today.  Let them do something naughty (like jumping on the bed) and sit back and capture the natural laughter that ensues…
