Brothers | Fall Family Portraits | Harry Myers Park
This fall marked three years that I’ve been taking portraits of these three brothers. They are some of the sweetest boys I’ve ever met, and luckily their mom and I have already agreed upon an arranged marriage between her oldest, and my daughter Emma – so I should be photographing them for years to come! Ha!

This super nice family took advantage of our fall family mini sessions at Harry Myers Park at the end of November – and I’m not sure I’ve photographed a little boy with more energy! I had a great time, and love their portraits!

Hello! Happy January! I have been enjoying some time off, followed by working only very part-time while easing back into things this year! I had planned to be back full force this week, but alas, we were struck by the flu in our house – my youngest has been home from school all week, so I’ve extended my part-time schedule to make time for extra snuggles while nursing her back to health. I’m excited for next week when things will go back to ‘normal’ – I have so many plans for 2013 – I can hardly decide where to begin! So – for now, I’ll work on catching up the blog, by posting this lovely family who drove over from Greenville, TX for our session, and Harry Myers Park was the perfect setting! I couldn’t believe how grown Miss Ella was – I did her newborn portraits back in March – you can check them out here.

Just a quick post to share a few images from this beautiful family’s session from October – isn’t this little girl darling?

The ‘rents… (Grandparents, in this case) | Heath, TX Photographer
Not sure how many of you know this – but I’m not a native Texan – I was born and raised near Chicago, Illinois. I love my Texas home – but do miss being able to see my family as regularly as I’d like! The good news is – my family is able to come visit a few times each year, and we get uninterrupted time together – which sometimes feels more substantial than just seeing them for an hour here and there! On this visit (back in July) we went to the park and took some portraits, and also played around in the pool – so thought I’d share both here! This was Emma’s birthday week – the big ’6′ – so these can’t count for her birthday portraits, since I still haven’t done them…. right???

You may recognize this family if you have been following my blog – I have photographed them many times! And if you are one of my clients – you may recognize Mom (aka Shana) – she is my assistant – she tags along to photo shoots, and is the one who watches for all those little details for me, and has also been known to pretend to ‘get me’ in the name of smiles… As we ramp up for fall, you may see or hear more from her, as she begins to take on more responsibilities within SDP – I’m excited for our new adventures together!

Fall Family Mini-Sessions | Rockwall TX Photographer
Now that school is in full swing – it’s time to start getting the rest of fall planned out – and for photographers, this means preparing for the busiest couple months of the year. Each year I ultimately end up having to turn away a couple awesome clients, simply due to lack of time – which is why I love offering these mini-session options – it’s a way for you to get those lovely family and kid portraits for your holiday cards, or to give out as gifts during the holidays – without the commitment of a full session. The October date will be at Harry Myers Park in Rockwall, and the November date we are tentatively choosing downtown Rockwall – but this may change – contact me if you are interested in the November date, but need to know the location for certain before booking.
Sessions are $199 – which includes your 20-minute location session, plus your choice of (6) desk prints, or (3) digital image files. You’ll also have the option after seeing your images, to upgrade to (all) digital image files for an additional $99. You’ll also have the option to order holiday cards from me, or use your digital image files to make them yourself!
As a special bonus – if you schedule for the October 21st date – we’ll also include a complimentary portrait ornament for the tree!
If you’re ready to schedule, or want to see which time slots are available – click here: SCHEDULE
Hope to see you this fall!

I don’t want to sound like I’m playing favorites – because truly, I have the cutest clients – but isn’t Ferris breathtakingly beautiful? We did this session when she was ten months old, and I was in love with the images from the moment I got home and quickly loaded them to the computer. That family shot is honestly one of my favorites to date – seriously. I could have posted her entire session here, but I was able to pare it down to these after much internal debate!
P.S. Did I mention that, in addition to it being my Kate’s 4th birthday today, that today is also Miss Ferris’s birthday as well? Happy Birthday sweet girls!

I was so honored to meet this family – it was so important to Dad to have family portraits done, that he arranged the entire session all the way from Afghanistan! I realized after I put together their blog collage, that I chose all the candid moments – but that is what makes these types of sessions special, and those are the images that speak to me the most! Sure, I love to get that gorgeous family portrait with everyone smiling for the camera – but I ADORE getting these moments where you can see the relationships within this family – those are memories they can now look back on and smile!

I’ve known this family for more than a year now, and couldn’t wait to get them in front of the camera – they are one of the best looking families – all the kids look alike, but are all gorgeous in their own individual ways as well. Daughter #2 goes to school with my youngest, and it was really neat to see her interacting with her brothers and sister!
