All mine | Girls in a Field | Rockwall Photographer
Back in January when we were having a particularly nice day, I took my girls to a new spot I’d found, to see how I’d like it for pictures. I couldn’t believe it when my oldest actually agreed to be my model, and these are some of my favorite portraits of her – EVER. My youngest… well… my youngest… What can I say – what would my life be like if she didn’t raise my blood pressure a bit now and then – and despite that, I still managed to get a few of her that I equally love… Anyway – meet Emma (6) and Kate (4):

This marks the third year I have had the privilege of photographing these adorable kids – well, technically, it’s only the second year for Miss Harper, who is 2 years old (her big brothers had just found out they were getting a sister the first time I photographed them!). This year we decided to dress them up and use downtown Rockwall as our backdrop, which has some amazing beautiful locations just before the holidays, when these were taken! It was also fun to see them again outside of school – the oldest is in class with my Emma, and the 3rd boy is in class with my Kate – and these are the nicest boys you’ll ever meet (and Miss Harper is pretty darn adorable herself). Can’t wait until next year!

I try my best not to play favorites, both when it comes to my kids, and also to my sessions, which are kinda like my kids! Each session is unique, and has elements that I fall in love with. In the case of this family – we had to reschedule their first session due to bad weather, and ended up scheduling in the evening (instead of the original morning timeslot). I’m so glad we did – I was able to make use of the downtown Rockwall square in a new way, and the lighting was perfection! It helps when the family is as adorable as this one, and although I SAY I don’t play favorites – this was truly one of my favorites from the fall…
Holiday Pajamas Portraits | Rockwall Photo Studio
I can’t believe I haven’t blogged this yet – this was an event I’d been wanting to do for a while, and I LOVE how it turned out! A simple white background, and I invited kids to come in their holiday pajamas, and let their colorful clothes and adorable personalities shine! I am already planning next year’s event!

What an awesome idea this Grandma had – she brought in all three of her granddaughters, and we took some holiday portraits of them together, and also separately, and she then was able to give beautiful wall portraits to each of her kids for Christmas! These girls are just as cute as can be, and I can’t wait to see how much they grow by NEXT Christmas!

Family of Girls | Harry Myers Park | Rockwall Photographer
Hello! Happy January! I have been enjoying some time off, followed by working only very part-time while easing back into things this year! I had planned to be back full force this week, but alas, we were struck by the flu in our house – my youngest has been home from school all week, so I’ve extended my part-time schedule to make time for extra snuggles while nursing her back to health. I’m excited for next week when things will go back to ‘normal’ – I have so many plans for 2013 – I can hardly decide where to begin! So – for now, I’ll work on catching up the blog, by posting this lovely family who drove over from Greenville, TX for our session, and Harry Myers Park was the perfect setting! I couldn’t believe how grown Miss Ella was – I did her newborn portraits back in March – you can check them out here.

This sweet family ended up having to reschedule after we had some questionable weather on mini-session day – but it worked out perfectly, because we had beautiful light on the second date! These girls are so sweet, and almost exactly the same ages as MY girls! It’s like I get to pretend what it would be like to photograph cooperative daughters (mine have PCS – Photographer’s Child Syndrome). This also was my fastest session of the fall – we were finished in less than 15 minutes (may have even been 10!). Here’s a quick series from one of the spots we shot at:
Winter Wonderland | Rockwall Holiday Portraits
I am absolutely in love with our Winter Wonderland set that we used for holiday studio mini’s this year! I have since used it for a newborn, as well as another family’s studio pictures – I love that it’s not limited to just Christmas pictures, but can also work for winter – even January – and it’s mostly neutral, which lets the kids shine, which is really the point, isn’t it?

Fall Madness Begins | Downtown Rockwall Photography
Now that I have finished the last session of 2012 – it’s time to start blogging when the madness began! I’m at the beginning of November – meet the F family, who I’ve been lucky enough to photograph for four years now! I need to start brainstorming a new location for next year – so far we’ve photographed them in their home, at Harry Myers Park, in downtown Royse City, and this year in downtown Rockwall. We took a few of these in front of Restaurant Ava, and then a few in front of Zanata – luckily we were there when both businesses were closed, allowing us to use the front and not disturb their customers!

Ballerina Portraits | Rockwall Dance Photographer | Dance Techniques
Ballerina Portraits has become a tradition here – we had our third annual event last month, and it was a huge hit! We had several little girls come back for the third year in a row – such a special thing to watch them grow! A HUGE thank you to my friend, Tiffany Edwards, who is a wonderful dance teacher and owner of Dance Techniques – who every year does this event with me, working all day posing little girls, giving them ‘smellies’ and making them feel beautiful, special and loved. I could not do this event without her – truly! We had a great turnout this year, so I can’t share every face in this blog post – but here are a few…
