Winter Wonderland | Rockwall Holiday Portraits

I am absolutely in love with our Winter Wonderland set that we used for holiday studio mini’s this year!  I have since used it for a newborn, as well as another family’s studio pictures – I love that it’s not limited to just Christmas pictures, but can also work for winter – even January – and it’s mostly neutral, which lets the kids shine, which is really the point, isn’t it?

Brand New Brothers | Rockwall Portrait Photographer

Halloween Open House for Charity | Women In Need, Inc.

When I sat down to plan out my fall calendar – I knew I had a lot more opportunities to do some fun events, now that we have our new studio space inside Wee Dreamscapes in Rockwall.  When I thought about October, I immediately thought of Halloween – but I didn’t want to just plan more mini-sessions – I wanted to do something more fun!  So – Jenny, owner of Wee Dreamscapes, and I put our heads together, and we decided to host a Halloween Open House on Sunday, October 28th from 12-5.  I will be available to get a cute shot of your kiddo in their costume – the cost is $15 – and the ENTIRE amount will go to our selected charity – Rockwall’s Women In Need, Inc.  We will also have some goody bags and treats to share – so please stop by, even if you don’t have a kiddo to be photographed!  Jenny has been busy adding some really cool new inventory in the store – including bath and body care for both babies and mommies, lots of new gift items, etc. – so if you haven’t been in in a while, or have NEVER been in – we’d love to see you!

No appointments necessary – it’s come and go between 12-5 on Sunday, October 28th.  Here is a sample of the cute Halloween background we’ll have!  For your $15 donation to Women In Need, Inc. – we will provide you with a 5×7 (to be picked up at the studio the following week), and we’ll also be loading all the images from the day into an album on our Facebook page – so you can tag and share with your friends right away!

Ballerina Portraits | It’s Back! | Rockwall Portrait Studio

When I came up with the concept for Ballerina Portraits more than two years ago – I had no idea how well it would be received, and how much fun it would be to have these sweet girls come back year after year for these precious dance portraits!  We did our preliminary launch of this year’s events by offering spots to the dancers from Dance Techniques, owned by my favorite dance teacher, Ms. Tiffany Edwards – and we already have several slots taken, several are little girls from past year – I can’t wait to see how they’ve grown!  Ms. Tiffany will be hosting this event with me for it’s third year – making sure every pose is dance-perfection!  We decided to change things up this year with a new background – it’s a vintage rose background – very sweet, and PERFECT for those sweet pink leotards your little dancer wears to dance class each week.  Don’t forget to bring her tights, her dance bag, and her ballet shoes!  Ms. Tiffany will bring some ballet shoes as well, if you don’t have any, or prefer pink to your black, etc.  It’s a really fun event, and I hope you’ll join us!

HOW MUCH: Pay a $20 deposit to book, which will be applied to your order – there is no session fee for this event!

Here’s more info, and a sample of the background for you.  We’ll have this American Girl ballet outfit on hand as well as a ballet outfit that fits the Bitty Babies – if your little girl has a doll, and would like to bring her, arrive a bit early, and we can let her borrow our outfit!

Smiley Baby Boy | Rockwall Photographer

Blogging a lot of studio sessions from June!  When it’s hot – I’m grateful to have the studio, so I can still capture amazing portraits, without everyone sweating buckets!  This sweet family came in for 6-month pictures for their son, but we captured a couple family shots, and of course some of his adorable sister as well.

Tobiah and his brothers | Rockwall Photo Studio

For some reason I find myself photographing sets of three brothers a LOT.  I have to really change my mindset on what makes boys comfortable and makes them laugh – as a mother of two girls – I can tell you – sometimes it’s not that different!  This set of boys was TOO cute – and little Tobiah especially – that last shot is one of my favorites from this year – it just makes me smile!

Kylei | Rockwall Indoor Portraits

Kylei’s mom scheduled her session a few weeks in advance, and she called later to tell me that she’d broken her arm!  Poor little thing!  I suggested that maybe we could continue, and show off that cast for a few of the shots, and minimize it in others – so that’s what we did!  Kylei picked out her own clothes for the session, and I just knew I had to pair her outfit with my glamourous silver background.  We did several close-ups, and these were my favorites…

Expecting | Studio Maternity Portraits

Doing maternity portraits, especially when both parents take part, is really special to me.  I like to be able to show off that belly – but there’s something much more important I like to highlight, and that is the relationship between the Mommy and Daddy-to-be – and their anticipation and love for their upcoming addition.  Doing this in the studio allows me the chance to use some dramatic lighting (flattering for EVERYone) to really highlight the mood, and show the beauty of Mom…  Love these portraits!
